Jane Porter Fogleman

Jane Porter Fogleman was born and raised in Charlottesville and it has remained her home ever since. She has a great pride in her family’s Albemarle heritage, which goes back to the late 1600’s. After graduating from the Woman’s College of the UNC (UNCG), she spent the next 4 years traveling and living throughout the Orient and Europe. Jane then returned to her native Albemarle County and still feels that the Piedmont of Virginia is extremely beautiful and restorative to one’s soul.

She has a background of horses and farms having spent her youth on a family farm, which dates back to an original Land Grant from the King of England. Her expertise in this area has provided her clients with the additional knowledge required for the informed purchase of land and farms and estates.

Jane lives with her husband, Jim Fogleman, in the horse country West of Charlottesville where they raised their two children Claiborne and Porter. She spends her leisure hours with her horses; Fox Hunting; Horse Showing or just enjoying the countryside of Albemarle. Tennis and Skiing are other sports about which she is avid and accomplished.

Her horse and farm interests are furthered by having served on the Virginia State Point to Point Council, The Montpelier Equestrian and Steeplechase Board, The Farmington Hunt Club Board and as Chairman of the Farmington and Keswick Hunt’s Point to Point Races. Jane is the Equine Consultant and frequent contributor to Virginia Sportsman Magazine.

Jane has been a licensed Realtor and Associate Broker for 32 years and has been with Roy Wheeler Realty Co. for 30 of those years. She has been a consistent Top Producer and Award Winner. Her love of the Piedmont of Virginia; it’s heritage and beauty make helping people find their dream home or farm a gratifying experience and one at which she excels.

Jane’s daughter Claiborne has joined forces with her mother in recent years and with her background in horses and farm management brings an added bonus to the team’s ability to meet all of their clients needs. Together they can cover all equine needs and interest.
